The Bittersweet on Main has been a hotbed of society since before the liquor laws went into effect; originally invitation-only the club has recently opened its doors as a “respectable” establishment catering to theatre and the arts as a pivot from its former rumored heritage as a den of ill-repute. Its rebranding serves as a front for the blind pig in the basement where the underworld life spills over from nearby New York City and those who seek to make a name for themselves in more illicit circles. When a branch of Ness’s Untouchables raids the Bittersweet, all hell breaks loose and in the chaos, a young ingénue is found brutally murdered. With the stakes and the hemlines getting higher and superstitions weighing ominously over the rogues’ gallery assembled, can the club find a way to seek justice for one of their own without damning themselves in the process?
MURDER BY LAMPLIGHT takes place in early 1924 as you join the audience of an interrupted performance of Dracula where a lead actress is found inexplicably murdered.
